System aXs Examples - A&L Credit Card

Being able to access your credit card account online is a very useful option when trying to keep your spending under control.

The Alliance & Leicester card has a relatively simple 'User Name' and 'Password' login - we don't even have to rename the buttons !

But we will add some more info to make buying on the internet an easier option.

From the main Alliance and Leicester home page at http://www.alliance-leicester.co.uk , we have to do a bit of digging, and the only obvious 'Log in' takes us to A&L Banking, and Not Credit Cards.

A&L don't actually own their own Credit Card, it's run for them by MBNA.

There's a [Credit Cards] box - here highlighted in blue - which looks promising, so we'll select that...

After some searching, we found a small link to 'credit card servicing'.

So we right-click on the Link and 'Copy Shortcut'

The shortcut comes out as...

http://www.alliance-leicester.co.uk/redirects/externalredir.aspx?url=mbnaservice

Which when we paste it into the address bar takes us to a login page for the A&L Credit Card.

So we'll hold onto that for our Access String...

Sometimes you have to be 'Sherlock Holmes' to find the Login link, but now we have it we don't need to work through the other pages to get there again...

Here's our System entry in the Edit Menu...

A&L and CC are found in the Name text. So we can find the entry with 'A&L' or a list of all our Credit Cards with 'CC'.

Adding extra characters such as 'CC' are a good way to group entries...

We've used http://www.alliance-leicester.co.uk/redirects/externalredir.aspx?url=mbnaservice as our Acc string.

We then have User and PW info, with the User [ ] box ticked to ensure that the User Name is ready in the Paste buffer when the [Access] button is used.

The '+ [ ]' box is also ticked, making this a 'Top-Pick' so it will appear nearer the top of any search.

Now this would have done if we just wanted to look at our online transactions, but why stop there ?

So I don't have to actually get my card out I've also added the Card Number, Expiry Date and 3-Digit security code as Q/A pairs.

There's also the Verified password as the first entry. When you purchase something on the internet these days you are often given the chance to set up a secure logon, and this is where that password comes in...

Here is what the Find Tab looks like...

The [Access] button opens up the Logon web page with the 'User Name' ready to be pasted. The User Name button is bold to show this.

Once you've Pasted the User Name into the User Name field on the Web page, return to System aXs and click on the [Password] button.

Now the [Password] button text goes Bold, and we know that information is ready to be pasted into the Password field on the web site.

Finally, the [Log On] button on the web site takes us in...
